Fender Fr-51 Resonator Bass

The bass you’ve been looking for to complete your Fender Collection. A rare bird, only 440 or sold world-wide, early 2000s. The Fender FR-51 Resonator Bass, is a companion to the Fender FR-50 Resonator guitar. In very good condition, few tiny marks that could be probably be buffed out, a very small dent (1/8”) under finish in back – I couldn’t see it either, and  a small cigarette burn? (No one smokes in the family) on the headstock). Not a loud guitar acoustically, but has a nice woody tone when plugged in. This guitar has a very short (for a bass) scale – 27”, an easy transition for a guitar player. A frequent question asked was “where’s the bass player”?  Back in the day (I hate that expression) our local music store received two of these – I bought them both. One for myself, and this one for my son. I was mostly a guitar player, so sold mine a long time ago. My son went off to school where he played this guitar in a band for three years. I can see he learned how to care for his instruments like his ‘old man’. The case is very sturdy, but it tells the story of his travels. The guitar is in great shape – frets are 9-ish, everything works. One standard 9 volt battery. Will need new strings and a set-up by someone who knows what they’re doing. I'm told made in Korea.
