About This Listing

There's nothing like an Analog Compressor to warm up your sound, make percussion grooves a little punchier, bass a bit snappier, and glue the mix together.

My DC571 module has TWO channels of no-nonsense audio compression made especially to give your Eurorack some of that subtle swingin' groove. TheDC571 uses an 80s design dual compander chip (still in production) to work its mojo.

Each channel is fully independent and has controls for input level attenuation, output make-up gain, and a true bypass switch. The DC571 is skiff-friendly and hand-crafted in USA.

INCLUDED | 10-to-16 pin ribbon power connector

NOT INCLUDED | M2.5 or M3 (Doepfer standard) Phillips-head basic zinc rack screws are only provided on special request. Why do I do this? To cut down on rack screws that are wasted in the universe. What's it gotta be? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Unused, unwanted. You know the ones I mean | wrong size, wrong color, cheap junk tin, top slot-stripping, rack-rashers, wrong thread count, wrong length, wrong political party, etc. I use thumb screws in 2 sizes myself. So yeah, if you request some M3's from me, I will probably pull the ones from other companies boxes in my closet. You're welcome :D
Measured Current Draw: 10mA on -12V, 13mA on +12V, 5V not used Width: 8HP Depth: 22mm

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are the controls for attack, release, threshold?
Think of DC571 as a basic lo-fi compressor device based on early cell phones, telecommunications and satellite transmissions technology.
As such this signal is always in compression, the amount of compression is variable w/ the average strength of the input signal.
It will allow transients through before the signal averaging reacts.

How much dB of compression can it apply at max?
For this test I set the Make-up Gain to zero and Input Amount to max (no attenuation), and read the results on a Mackie mixer LED meter. It can reduce a continuous sine wave on 1 channel from 20hz to 250hz, by approximately 10db range.
