This is a RARE 2001 Lakland Jerry Scheff fretless. Serial # JS03 and owned previously by Dan Lakin.
Beautiful flame maple top over ash body, maple neck with a lined ebony fingerboard. Looks like only 19 were listed as being made on the original serial number sheet, this is #3. Who knows how many were fretless. Comes in a beat but clean on the inside vintage Lakland case with all latches working.
I changed the control knobs because one came loose when it was shipped to me, and damaged the body on the upper side (see photos). Pretty minor though. The new knobs are affixed with set screws. There are also pin sized imperfections and light finish scratches that are so small they're very hard to photograph.
There are a few bumps on the tip of the headstock I just noticed also -- see last pic.
8.2 lbs on my kitchen scale.
I will miss this one.
Ships to CONUS only.
