Distinctive distortion tone that can handle your low end. The MXR Bass Distortion delivers unbelievably nasty sounding distortion crafted specifically for your bass guitar. With it's Dry/Wet Level controls for the perfect mix of distortion and clean signal, the M85 eliminates having to split your signal. It's tone control only affects the dirty signal and works as a high cut filter for dialing back your top end. Use the Distortion Control to set your preferred dirt intensity, while using the LED/SIL switch to select between clipping diodes for your preferred flavor. The default SIL setting uses silicon clipping diodes for an aggressive, biting sound and a bit of compression, while the LED setting uses LED diodes for a more wide open sound and a nice gain bump.
