Beard Custom Pedals took as a basis of that pedal the legendary sound of Matamp amplifiers. The scheme is based on a field-effect transistors, simply recognized as a "stone" lamp emulators. Also the pedal has a band EQ, which can cut or boost high & low frequencies. So, it goes right not only as a guitar pedal, but also sounds great with bass.
