The Rickenbacker Accent vibrato has always been a classic piece of kit. Unless you're left-handed -- then it's been nothing more than a fantasy. Until now. We're happy to change that -- because we now offer a complete left-handed vibrato unit for Rickenbacker guitars.
Our vibrato duplicates the vintage right-handed ones, but with the same improvements we've made to all of our units:
- Our comb uses a solid steel pivot instead of the weaker brass pivot on the old pieces. Then, we micro-weld it into place. It's not breaking, it's not popping out.
- Our springs are also made to vintage specs: they're flatter than the current springs, giving you a better break angle across the bridge saddles. And again, they've been re-engineered to be stronger than the originals.
- Our arms are also like the old ones: longer, and with a more rounded tip. And -- again -- they're stronger: we use a steel rather than brass ring.
But this is the crucial point: it's for a left-handed guitar. That means we've flipped both the comb and the arm to be oriented for the way you play your guitar. And because we know that your guitar didn't come with an an Accent, we substitute our Accent adapter for the stock tailpiece. That means that this vibrato will match perfectly with the strap bolt hole from your original R or trapeze bracket without drilling a new hole in your guitar. You gotta like that.
