About This Listing

For sale is a 2007 James Goodall Standard built in AAA African Blackwood and mastergrade European (German) spruce. I am the second owner of the guitar and I've had it for the last 4 years. If you are looking at this listing then you probably already know James Goodall guitars and what a rare find this is. This guitar is thunderous with a highly complex tone. Truly a dream guitar. I have replaced the nut/saddle with premium fossilized walrus ivory but will include the original bone nut/saddle with the guitar. The photos show the guitar with FWI bridge pins but I will be keeping those unless you want to throw in an extra $200. The guitar will come with the original ebony pins from Goodall. James currently charges more for an upgrade to African Blackwood than Brazilian...this guitar today would cost you between $16000-17000. The guitar comes in a premium Calton case that would be around $1200. As I'm sure that many of you know, African Blackwood is very hard to photograph so I've done my best here. Unless noted below marks showing up in the photos are dust/lint/reflection. The guitar does have a jack for a pickup but it was removed shortly after I received it. I no longer have the original pickup.

General Info:
Serial #: BWS5370
Model: Standard
Top: Mastergrade European Spruce
Back/Sides: AAA African Blackwood
Binding: Curly Maple
Headstock overlay: Ebony
Nut/Saddle: Fossilized Walrus Ivory
Nut Width: 1 3/4"
String Spacing: 2 1/4"

Condition: I would rate this guitar as excellent -/very good +. There are a few minor issues originating with the previous owner:
1) There are two minor dings/indentions in the top right by the binding on the lower bout (see photos)
2) There is a third ding in the treble side of the upper bout on the side of the guitar where it meets the neck (just under the strap pin...see photo)
3) There is extremely minor scratching on the headstock that my local guitar guy says is due to repeatedly placing/removing a capo on there. I was able to catch this in the photo with the right lighting. However, it is very minor.
4) There was originally some "buckle rash" on the back of the guitar but I have buffed 99.9% of it out so that it is basically nonexistent. I'm mentioning it as you can see the faintest remnant of it if you look really hard and hold it at the perfect angle in the light. I assure you that you will have a very hard time finding this but I believe to full disclosure.

Please note that all of these condition "issues" are extremely minor but, again, I believe in full disclosure. Anything else showing up in the photos is dust/lint.
