About This Listing

Walter Becker's Stage Played Dan Armstrong Lucite Bass serial # D554A, I believe meaning it is the 454th one ever made.  They started in June of 1969 and this one was made in Dec. of 1969.  It's a 50+ year old instrumental masterpiece.  A late 6's beast in all forms of sound, performance, playability, etc.

Who knows how many Steely Dan hits, songs and performances this instrument has been a part of? But there is plenty of photo/video evidence that it was used extensively for the 1973 Midnight Special Concert. It can be seen on youtube on songs like:

  • Reeling In The Years
  • My Old School
  • Showbiz Kids

It is a single pickup screamer.

It comes with bulletproof provenance as it came from the family through the auction.

Own a piece of musical history!

I had to take two pics of the serial number to get it all in frame.

Comes with a non-original but completely awesome Musicman case.  It has dual ridges around the entire case that allows it to stand on it's side with much more stability than normal cases.

Gladly take refunds on anything that is wildly different than described.  But ask a lot of questions as there is a 40% restocking fee.
