About This Listing

This is a heavily modified Gibson S-1 that we believe was built in 1976. It has been refinished in kind of Dijon mustard yellow, and been modified internally with a glued in block of wood in the routing cavity, and an accompanying pair of P90 pickups, which we have no info on, but they look to also be vintage. The electronics work well, and the guitar sounds good clean or dirty. The neck plays well overall, with pretty clean frets (we think it was re fretted at one point). There is a slight twits in the neck though, so the E and A strings tend to buzz in the cowboy chord range. We think a combination of shimming and perhaps replacing the nut would mitigate this though. Plenty of scratches and dings on the body and neck, but no other damage that affects playability or tone (see pictures). It ships with a nice SKB hard shell case too. Check it out! Sold AS-IS.
