Up for sale, a 1981 Tokai Breezysound TE-60RR vintage electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A unique amalgam of features, this Tele boasts a traditional tone wood compliment of an alder body and maple neck, with a deeply contoured body and Strat-style vibrato. Loaded with original zebra bobbin Tokai "57 P.A.F. Model" humbuckers, the tonal range of this guitar is quite unique for a Tele, with a particularly round and burly neck pickup. The bridge pickup has spank and growl without being overly bright, and the pickups are engaged in series in the middle position for a particularly powerful sound guaranteed to push your tube amp to the brink. The guitar weighs 7lbs 14oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 11-50 strings, accurate intonation, and comfortable action.

The maple neck has a chunky C shape with lots of shoulder and roundness, measuring .880" deep at the 1st fret and .960" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has pearl dot inlay and retains the original fairly slender fretwire which shows only light wear beneath the G and B strings on frets 1-7 with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The neck is straight, the truss rod is optimally adjusted, and the guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale. The nut is a hand-carved piece of bone for optimal clarity and sustain, measuring a full 1 11/16" in width. The headstock retains the original Breezysound decal as well as a set of Kluson-style Deluxe-branded tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well even with liberal vibrato use.

The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls capped with Strat-style knobs and a Gibson-esque three-way pickup selector toggle. The original pair of humbuckers have exposed zebra bobbins and original stickers on the baseplates mimicking Gibson's PAF stickers. The pickups are perfectly matched with strong output, measuring 7.98k ohms each. The vibrato unit features individual Tokai-branded saddles and is currently setup with four springs floating just a hair off the body and responding easily with a fluid, dynamic response. The guitar is structurally sound, and the original gloss Walnut finish shows no touchup or overspray. Cosmetic wear is limited to scuffing across the pick path and a few additional small nicks on the top, mostly behind the bridge. There is a bit of scuffing on the back as well, but shy of buckle rash.

A gigbag is included.
