Up for sale is Guild DV4 built in Tacoma, Washington. This guitar is in very good condition with a few minor cosmetic flaws. This dreadnought is loud and proud. Bluegrass guys, and strummers with an aggressive attack will really enjoy the boom that this guitar packs. If you are a fan of the Guild D40, D35, D25, or the DV6, then this could be a guitar you would really like. For a USA, hand built acoustic guitar, there is nothing out there much better than a Guild acoustic guitar, in this price range. The subtle features on this model make it look like a vintage guitar that is still very attractive, without all the high end appointments on models like a D55. This model Guild features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, scalloped bracing, tortoise style body binding, and a hand rubbed satin/matte style finish. Mother of pearl headstock inlay, and fret dot markers. No electronics, so you can outfit the guitar with the pickup system that you prefer.
There are a few minor issues I want to address. The bridge is not lifting, but i can get a thin piece of paper to just start to slide under the back of the bridge. There are a few scratches on the top just below the pick guard that i have pointed out with blue arrows in one of the pictures. There is also a spot on one side right up against the body binding that I point out as well. The action is set up for an aggressive strummer to be able to really dig into this guitar without getting any fret buzz. However, if you prefer the action to be a bit lower, the truss rod is working properly, and there is tons of saddle left for future adjustments. There is little to no wear on the fretboard. The guitar comes with an after market Gator case that is in very good condition.
Overall this guitar is a great example of a high quality, hand built instrument, that is at a very reasonable price point, under a thousand bucks. If you are the touring musician who wants to have a guitar to take on the road that you do not have to baby, or if you are looking to buy your first guild guitar on a budget, then this could be a great guitar for you. I have several other guild acoustics for sale, and i am adding more used and vintage guilds to my inventory every week. I prefer to make deals direct and privately, so if you want to message me with any offers or have questions, please do so. Additional photos upon request. Thanks for looking!!
