Custom built for me  to be tuned down a whole step to DGCFAD.

Spectacular Figured Mahogany solid back and sides laminated with Maple interiors for stiffness.
Western Red Cedar Top selected by John for its amazing Tap Tone and Stiffness.
Bound in beautiful flamed Koa.

1.75" Nut. 2.25" string spacing at Saddle.

Short 24.625" scale for comfort on the yoga chords

Slim neck carve. Slightly asymmetrical too. A bit more C shape meat on the bass (upper) side and slightly less meat mod V on the treble side. Very fast and comfortable.

In BEAUTIFUL condition. Needs nothing. Final setup, fret dress and monster flamenco style clear Pickguard by Pat Quinn, Senior Repair Tech at Taylor El Cajon, and my friend and personal Tech.

This is John Kinnaird's ROUND PEAK model, which is based on a 12 fret over size Slope Dread, but has a slightly pinched waist. This was his largest shape when ordered.

Interestingly it is very close to the shape of a Taylor Grand Symphony.
But with a slightly flatter butt, kind of like a Gibson Slope Dread.

Specially made to be tuned down a whole step from normal E (concert) tuning using Elixir HD Light strings. (Light big strings and medium small ones)
So tuned to DGCFAD. (or Open D, which has a bit more string tension.)

Should be quite happy tuned to E Flat with light gauge strings.
I would be careful if tuning to E, to avoid geometry problems.

It is 12 frets to the body, but John's low neck heel and cutaway allow about the access of 13 1/2 frets on most instruments.

11" Upper Bout, 9 7/8" waist, 16.25 Lower Bout

About 3.8" deep at neck heel, and 4.8" at Butt.

John uses a slightly radiused top and back, so depth varies a bit depending on how far into the body the caliper tips touch.

This has a slew of custom features:

12 frets to body with a rounded "Venetian" cutaway.

Large comfort arm and back bevels. Amazingly comfy!

Bound soundport in the upper shoulder for wonderful surround sound for the player.

Raised floating Fretboard extension and Carbon Fiber Struts to free the upper top from structural duty and let it ring for more TONE AND VOLUME.

No Truss Rod, for lighter weight. Instead the neck/Headstock has a LOT of Carbon Fiber the entire length for maximum strength/lightness, and to move all vibration to the TOP where it makes music!

Has Jescar EVO Gold color extra hard frets and Gold Gotoh 510 18 to 1 mini tuners with full size ebanoid resin buttons

Snake Headstock with Burled Walnut faceplate, Koa backplate and ducktail volute for max strength in what is often a problem area for production guitars.

Dark Ebony Fretboard with beautiful Blue Paua slot diamonds

Fancy blue Paua Celtic Knot rosette is stunningly pretty.

Custom Kinnaird Branded Ameritage case is in perfect condition.

K&K Pure Mini Pickup installed by JK during build.

Build thread by John Kinnard in Custom Shop on AGF. 

This guitar will turn sheltering in place into ARTIST IN RESIDENCE.

I am fortunate to have three more JK Customs. This one sounds a lot like my most recent which is even bigger!!  So needs a new home and lots of vigorous exercise!!!  :)
