Hamer made only 262 Mirage IIs. This is one of them.
You've probably been looking at other Mirage IIs out there for sale, so you know the basic specs.
Honduras mahogany body topped with beautifully figured, hand-carved Koa.
Medium C neck -- I'd say about .850" at the first fret and not a whole lot thicker at the twelfth -- maybe .890" if that.
Low action.
Superb feel. Comfortable and fast.
The stock Seymour Duncan JB and ’59 pickups were swapped with Seymour Duncan P-Rails with Triple Shot Mounting Rings by my guitar tech. They sound amazing on the Mirage's longer 25.5 inch scale.
The Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups let you choose between P-90, single-coil or humbuckers.
The Triple Shot Mounting Rings make it easy to switch between pickup types without destructive mods for toggle switches or having to replace the legendary custom-taper Hamer/CTS pots with push-pull pots. The Triple Shots also let you choose between series and parallel humbuckers, which is pretty cool all by itself.
