About This Listing

Stunning Antonio Sanchez S20 (2006)

Solid cedar top classical Spanish guitar in near perfect condition  with high quality beautifully lined hard case (worth £70) and free UK  UPS shipping and discounted U.S shipping, I pay about $30 more to help my U.S classical guitar enthusiasts to help my feedback on here.

Now perfectly strung with D'Addario Pro.Arte normal tension, I have also cleaned and hydrated the fretboard and polished every individual fret  using a template and the guitar  now looks and sounds incredible.

Hand made in Valencia Spain

In 1984 after many years of study Spanish Luthier Antonio Sánchez opened his own workshop in Valencia, Spain.

Since the opening of his workshop Antonio has dedicated his life to the study and improvement of the musical qualities of his instruments.

Years of study and the subsequent investigation with different materials and bracing designs have led to the well-known and admired Antonio Sánchez’s guitars and a well deserved worldwide reputation for quality.

Continuous improvement and development of the guitar is the main focus with Antonio selecting the best quality woods and subjecting his chosen woods to a natural drying process which can last more than one year.

The workshop, situated in Paterna city, has a staff of twenty dedicated craftsmen who maintain the most pure craftsmanship tradition whilst joining this with and obtaining the benefit from modern technology and innovation to construct guitars of excellent technical prowess, aesthetic and sonorous characteristics.

solid Canadian Red Cedar Top
one piece exotic bubinga back
bubinga Sides (stunning grain)

Rosewood fretboard

Beautiful Rosette

Nickel plate tuners (lovely and smooth but hold great tune)

Thick almost coffee cream coloured  binding (very smart)

Beautifully carved headstock  (I love the headstocks on the Sanchez models, really smooth and made with exceptional craft.

Measurements length 100cm shoulders 29cm waist 24cm widest 39cm depth 9.7cm  nut/neck width 52mm

The condition is near perfect , literally 2  tiny soundboard micro ding and you'd have eye strain finding fault, this is not the same as most being sold on line for £350 this is the solid canadian red cedar Version which are more sought after and were originally priced at £499 10 years ago when they were making them in Cedar.

I can only find one cedar example on line in Russia reduced to £430

Only the 1020 model now comes in Cedar at this price range which are £450 without a case, the case with this is really great quality and worth around £80.

So about £500 worth of guitar with the used but great condition case, new set up and in almost perfect condition.

The sound of this guitar is better than my old Alhambra 4C, and Cuenca 40 by miles. Incredible depth and  warm in the tone and great projection.

The action is perfect for me at 4.5mm on the 12th low bass E  and the set up feels perfect for classical music in particular. The sustain and projection of this guitar excellent.

This guitar is perfect if your progressing in your playing, and want more sustain and projection for classical pieces. I've played guitar for 20 years and Have not found many models that match this, I'd like to keep it if I can sell a few other guitars but rent is looming and bills to pay.

The guitar is perfectly intoned and I've not played a guitar under £500 of this quality. Far better than an Admira Virtuoso  and my old  1966 Yairi Soloist I sold recently so I really can't recommend this guitar enough.

If you don't buy this one, see if you can track down a new cedar example , they have either sold out or were made in limited supply, these are hand made guitars remember, not printed out like cheap factory made models , this guitar benefits from a new set up and the soundboard being fully open which takes 3-5  years some say still improve afterwards and this guitar is 10 years old and  was kept in the hard case by one careful owner.

The aged solid Cedar has opened  nicely and the warmth &  rich full  tone just scream quality.

The guitar is  set up perfectly with great sustain even above the 7th  on the trebles which really chime, I guess sometimes you just get a very good example.

I ship worldwide via UPS express and this guitar comes with a hard case

The guitar will be well packed  comes with a hard case and will be sent via UPS express.

I  have been on eBay for  over 10 years with 100% positive feedback  under  "brightonvintageclassic" and have sold 100s of classical guitars over the years.

I set up guitars to optimise their playing and find the right balance of tone Vs playability - This guitar if for more intermediate to  advanced players that have a developed ear and a good hand strength, it's not set up super low for ease of play as you lose tone and projection this way, this is more for more advanced classical pieces and progression in your studies and perfect for performances with the great projection warmth and balance.
