I have been working on this pre-CBS sound for many years. We are at the forefront of development, after years of research, using a set of pickups for the 1962 Stratocaster® with authentic pre-CBS specifications.

For this model, we use 42 AWG wire formulated by General Vintage Tone in the United States, genuine Heavy Formvar, completely free of polymers or plastic varnishes. Pure heavy copper, just like Leo Fender used in his most prestigious guitars.

We have carefully adjusted these sets to offer the best pickups on the market at a fair price, while ensuring the highest quality construction and warranty from General Vintage Tone.

1962 Set – Holy Grail Strat Set

• All coils are hand-wound, one by one.
• Magnets are loaded manually using our optimal gauss degradation formula.
• This set uses Alnico 5 magnets of vintage formulation, Made in USA.
• All bobbins are original, made from vulcanized plates, precision-machined with a state-of-the-art laser cutter, and assembled manually in our workshop.
• This set maintains the same clockwise winding direction on all three pickups, following pure pre-CBS specifications and keeping the same polarity across all pickups.

We use American-made wire under the T2 FW1177 Heavy Formvar 42 AWG specification from the prestigious Elektrisola factory, Made in USA.

All winding is fully manual, using the scatter wound technique, drawing from experience building over 500 Stratocaster sets on our small winding machine.

The lead wires are LUXE RADIO, Made in USA, or repros using the correct tinned copper wire with 7 individually twisted strands, ensuring the highest quality and clarity in the pickup output.
