Brand new hand made octave mandolin. Maple back, sides, and neck. Ebony fret board, bridge, peg head overlay, end pin, and binding, Bone nut, 21.5 inch scale length. 24 frets for the A and E courses. 21 for the G and D. M.O.P. fret marker dots, The peg head inlay is a Stirling silver heart, Spanish Cedar secondary wood. Satin lacquer finish.
I am very pleased with the tone, volume, balance, and over-all sound. It is loud. The bass is deep and resonant, the mid`s are clear and strong, the highs are bright and clear. The intonation is spot on. The string action is very playable. The over all action is very live. The sustain is very strong.
