This crash is LTRA DARK SOUNDING TOO - the profile is LOW! Almost flat!

Mehmet has filed away under their "Jazz" line. Which is appropriate since this 18" is based off what was formerly known as the Mel Lewis Ride back when Agop and Mehmet still knew how to play nicely together.

HOWEVER, this being the "DRY Legend" the craftsmanship is NOTICEABLY different - dig the GORGEOUS HAND HAMMERING!!

"The new Legend Dry cymbals have the same profile and weight as Legend Cymbals, but the shallow lathing and hammered bell results more complex and drier sound."

SUPER CLEAN!!! SO CLEAN in fact that this beauty could even PASS AS NEW!

And look at this thing! Stunning, GOLDEN craftsmanship with a gorgeous lathed underside!

If you like DARK crashes, this is one of the FINEST ones you will find. Guaranteed!

This particular 18" is exceptionally DARK and low pitched. It has great definition and still emits a dark, hand hammered wash that's fairly light and controlled when played as a Ride-compliments of the smaller 18" size.  

And it has a gloriously FULL WASH when crashed upon!!! But it decays fairly quickly. FULL TURKISH TONE AND IT'S DARK and low in pitch!!!!!!! This thing can really open up when you lay into it.

Weighing in at a perfect 1352 grams, this cymbal plays like a gorgeous THIN to Medium Thin DARK Crash or Left Side Ride (if you've got a light touch). The tone is slightly dry and definitely dark! Just beautiful. And the stick attack still stays on top. THAT is the ISTANBUL magic. I simply marvel how they do it. And this Legend Dry is wonderfully responsive at lower level volumes. Overall the pitch is very low and as promised, it's dark.

Obviously this 18" is a fantastic Medium Thin Dark Crash! But it's also a kickass Left Side Light Ride, especially if you dig LOW DARK AND RESPONSIVE.

This 18" would be a PERFECT candidate for Rivets, if you're so inclined.

Crash on it and explodes...and then decays fairly fast for a 18".

A simply beautiful, all around, workhorse cymbal.

Obviously this Hand Hammered Istanbul Mehmet Legend 18" Dry Crash is perfect for jazz, blues, folk, singer/songwriter gigs, trio work, ballads, and soul, however I'd like to see a funk, fusion, country, pop or rock player lay off the power bell ride for a chorus and throw this DARK and semi-dry 18" into the mix-then you'll be breaking the barrier and exploring new sounds-and that's what I dig.

Honestly, why the hell pay $425 for a new Zildjian K Constantinople????? Or even $265 for a regular Zildjian A????

THIS LEGEND DARK REALLY IS HAND HAMMERED. And it's in AMAZING shape - PERFECT!

And it sounds AMAZING! And you'll actually be saving a LOT OF MONEY! And hell, it's not the easiest cymbal to come by-it's a head turner. This isn't Guitar Center fodder.
