KAPA guitars are one of our specialties. Built in Maryland in the 1960s, with outstanding Hofner humbucker pickups, necks and hardware from Germany, these are sleeper rivals to the big brands of the day, at a fraction of the price. We've sold several Continentals and 506 hollow body models. (FYI, KAPA is an acronym for builder Koob Veneman, his son, Albert, his daughter, Patricia and his wife, Adeline.)

We even have a great '65 Challenger available as well with a great new price.

The Continental succeeded the Challenger in 1965 and became one of the most popular guitars KAPA offered. And since KAPA never built that many, and went out of business in 1970, these are becoming quite collectible.

Of course rare means nothing if a guitar doesn't play well, but these are wonderful hand-crafted instruments. The Hofner staple pickups are glorious, and this lovely sunburst version is sll original and in ready to play shape.  Frets are good, neck is straight and action low.  Has a nice nickel plated adjustable bridge, with Germany stamped on the back. The body has some age appropriate checking in the finish that lends it some real vintage street cred.  A few nicks are depicted in the pictures, but this is in very fine shape for its vintage.

What appears to be the original, lined case is also included.

We have lots of other great guitars like a '62 Gretsch Anniversary a '66 KAPA Continental  and a' 82 Peavey T-25 as well as some boss ampsincluding a '94 Fender Blues Deville 212 and an '84 Fender Stage Lead. Plus there is more fantastic stuff we are getting ready to list, so please check out the rest of the shop and point friends and fellow musicians our way.

About Automatic Jack
As with all the axes in the Automatic Jack Shack, the Swede -- my guitar craftsman and collaborator in gear -- has given this his full treatment, checking, fixing and optimizing all the electronics, hardware and functionality from headstock on down. Of course, our vintage is old stuff, so bear in mind that many of our listings are for 30-40+ year-old instruments, with the typical kind of wear and quirks that comes with that. Vintage gear tends to be imperfect and in need of ongoing care.  We are dedicated to delivering the most playable, high-quality and modestly-priced guitars and gear we can. But we are players and people. We want to offer great deals and deal with great people.
