Up for sale is a 1997 Guild DV6 built in Westerly Rhode Island. This guitar is in excellent condition, and is one of Guild's best kept secrets. Not many people know about this model because it was only produced for a short run in the mid 1990s. At that time, Guild would also have preferred that you buy the more expensive D40 model. So this guitar was not heavily marketed. I have owned several guild D40s and this DV6 is the Hog wood dread that i prefer over any other that i have owned. I have many collector grade Guild acoustics that are some of the best sounding guitars i have ever played. But if you ask me which guild do i play the most, my answer would be the DV6. This guitar rarely gets put up in it's case. It stays out on a stand near my couch, and is always within arm's reach. If you are looking for a USA built guitar that is all solid wood construction for under a thousand dollars, then this is the guitar for you.
The DV6 is part of the Dreadnought Vintage Series that is very popular within the Guild community. It has a fully bound sitka spruce top with a herringbone rosette. The back and sides are Mahogany. The bridge and fretboard are Rosewood. The headstock has the mother of pearl guild peak logo and the chesterfield scepter. It comes with a bone nut and saddle as well as upgraded bone bridge pins with mother of pearl dot inlays. The case is a TKL dreadnought case that is not original but is in very good condition. The guitar has a hand rubbed finish (satin). There are no real issues to address with this guitar. There is a small spot just below the pick guard that shows signs of pick wear. There are some very minor dings, dents, and scratches on the guitar but none are significant enough to be pointed out. If you would like to see them please message me for additional pictures. The only reason I am selling this guitar is because I have another DV6 with a Cedar spruce top that is very rare, that i recently purchased. I don't need to keep two of the same guild, so I am letting this one go.
I have many other guild acoustics for sale, and i am adding more used Guilds to my inventory every week. The only guitars I buy, sell, and collect are guild acoustics. Please message me if you are looking for a specific guild and I will do my best to find it for you. This guitar will be listed for sale in all the other major online marketplaces, so check with me before buying this guitar. I prefer to make my deals privately so message me with any and all questions, requests, and offers. Thanks for looking!!
