The folks at Takumi have been distributing Japan's finest uke makers for many years. For the last few years they have been collaborating with master builder Yusuke Kawakami to bring you this new line. Takumi is a Japanese word meaning "artisan". These new instruments portray the art of lutherie with excellent craftsmanship. These are made in concert size only and the sound and feel are among the finest of concerts you will find.
These concerts from Takumi have excellent volume and projection in a soft warm voicing. This TC-1K features gorgeous golden Hawaiian koa wood shown off with a glassy finish. The sound is exactly what many look for, bright clarity of koa with a rich full body to the tone.
This ukulele is extremely light in weight and features the new Gotoh UPT tuners that resemble traditional friction ukulele tuners but are actually geared tuning keys with a 4:1 ratio. Top and back bound.
