Kay Upright Bass circa 1940. Serial Number: 8430, Tobacco Burst

I have a Kay Upright Bass with Gamba Corners for sale.  Serial number is 8430. The bass is in very healthy condition. String height is super low for ease of playing, especially if you are an electric player coming over to doublebass! Beautiful birdseye maple laminates on the front and back. All original from the scroll to the bottom of the bass. The following work has been done:
1. New Bridge
2. New Thomastic Spirocore strings
3. New endpin
4. New tailpiece cable
5. New Nut
6. Ebonized FB (Finger Board)
7. Neck Re-set

This is one of the better Kay Basses I have had. The sound is very focused. String height is approx. 7-8mm on the G string side and 8-9mm on the E string side. Shipping is possible thru Southwest Airlines Cargo terminal out of Kansas City. String length is approx. 41 inches. The bass is currently strung with brand new Thomastik Spirocore strings. If you play Jazz, Blue Grass, Country or Rockabilly...this bass fits the bill! Sounds and plays great!
