Reliable, functional, and trustworthy, the much loved Fender Telecaster is the original workhorse guitar, and as part of Fender's American Performer range - a series of superbly crafted American models with accessible price tags - the American Performer Telecaster SH updates the original design to provide an authentic looking, but modern and extremely playable instrument.

Adhering to the classic design, the familiar and robust Alder body feels lively, resonant, and surprisingly comfortable, while the classic Vintage White urethane finish ensures that the guitar not only looks fantastic, but is also fully prepared for both the rigours of the road, and years of ownership. Working well with almost any playing style, the comfortable Modern “C” shaped Maple neck is also finished in smooth but tough urethane, and is perfectly complimented by the 9.5" radius Maple fingerboard; 22 jumbo frets add to the instrument's incredibly positive and highly playable feel.

Handcrafted in Corona, the two Yosemite® pickups (Single-Coil Telecaster® in the bridge / Double Tap™ Humbucker in the neck ) have been specifically voiced for each position, and their lively tones are teeming with classic Tele bark and growl. Sonic versatility is further enhanced by the push-pull pot control, which unlocks single-coil tones from the neck pickup without loss in volume, while Fender's excellent Greasebucket Tone System allows treble cut without loss of gain or a "muddied" sound. Other features include new 18:1 ratio ClassicGear Tuning Machines, a synthetic bone nut, classic dot inlays, and a vintage style 3-Saddle String-Thru Tele® Bridge.
