Philips GA 312 Turntable Just Serviced with NEW Carbon Fidelity Cartridge

Here is an excellent Philips GA 312 Turntable built in Holland (circa 1978) in beautiful condition, freshly serviced with a brand new belt and a brand new Carbon Fidelity cartridge. The 312 is a very well-regarded model, often called "the poor man's Thorens," and examples as nice as this one are not easy to find. Quiet, belt driven, with cool touch sensitive controls to start the plater spining at 33 or 45 rpm. The tonearm automatically lifts at the end of a side with automatic shut-off, so you never need to worry about leaving it unattended; it is otherwise a manual turntable.

The 312 has just been fully serviced. It has a brand new belt and a brand new Carbon Fidelity moving magnet cartridge. This cartridge is manufactured in Japan by Audio Technica exclusively for the American company LP Gear, and it features a fantastic carbon fiber stylus cantilever with an elliptical diamond tip. Audiophiles and critics rave that this ultra-modern cartridge design sounds as good as many famous cartridge models priced at several hundred dollars (see full specs in the images). New PRB belt. All lubrication points have been cleaned and freshly lubricated and the speed control potentiometers have been properly flushed and treated with deoxIT. This freshly serviced turntable is in perfect operating condition and the tone arm tracks perfectly at even very light stylus pressure settings.

Cosmetically, it has been kept in beautiful condition with no significant marks, dings or scratches. The dust cover is free of cracks and has only the most minimal superficial marks --it is VERY clear. A reprint of the factory owner's manual is included. Also included is the factory packaging for the new Carbon Fidelity cartridge. I will be happy to email the buyer a .pdf file of the service manual, upon request, or it can also easily be found online.
