Yamaha Pacifica 120S - 90's Series
Yamaha Pacifica 120S, according to the serial number from 1992. (As Yamaha's serial numbers cannot be identified exactly, the serial number can be from 1992 or 2002. But due to the aging of the neck and body finish and the look of the pickups 1992 seems to be more realistic.)
Very good condition for the age, few signs of wear.
Body: alder
Neck: maple, fat C-profile
Nut width: 41 mm
long scale
H-H pickups (11.9 kOhm / 12.6 kOhm), most probably with alnico magnets
Hardtail bridge, string through body
The neck has nicely darkened due to age to some yellowish-orange
The color of the body has changed from white to a kind of greenish-yellowish vintage white due to the age, similar to an old Strat pickguard (looks very good anyway)
unobstructed original condition
Weight approx.3.36 kg
As you can easily see, the Pacifica 120S is based on a Telecaster, but with a slightly changed shape of the upper body horn, namely a more forward-drawn shape, which, in combination with the rear body milling, means that the Pacifica hangs much better on the guitar strap than an original Tele.
However, the 120S does not have two single coils, but is equipped with two, quite good sounding humbuckers. As far as I know, back then with Alnico magnets. In terms of sound, the pickups are quite good, the positive thing is that the neck pickup transmits the bass not overly dominantly, and neck and bridge pickups also match well in terms of volume, the basic sound is fairly balanced, transparent and fresh, also clean and slightly overdriven, the humbuckers sound good, although they are of course primarily designed for more or less heavy overdrive to distortion sounds, but actually I think, the 120S is a good allround guitar.
The guitar is in very good condition for its age, only on the side surfaces there are a few slight abrasions in two or three places.
Shipping within the EU is possible either with the neck unscrewed and a new set of strings included, or for larger shipping costs in oversized guitar box as bulky goods. (The indicated shipping costs are the more expensive bulky goods version, for the cheaper version I will send you a direct offer on request.)
