This is a fascinating and ingenious device; it allows drummers to play double bass patterns with one foot on one bass drum! The heel plate is an independent pedal from the foot-board. With a little practice (okay, in my case, a LOT of practice), you can develop a heel-toe technique that yields fantastic patterns that would otherwise only be available using two feet.

 Unlike other "Dual" pedals, the Twin-effect allows independent control of both beaters. It is possible, for instance, to play them both simultaneously if you press both front and back portions together with your entire foot.

Just imagine if you had TWO of these pedals on two bass drums! That would be like playing four bass drums!

The pedal (s) has all the standard features we've all come to expect on any decent product; a bottom plate with Velcro-like backing; built in spurs; side-activated hoop clamp; adjustable stroke length; chain drive; dual-face beaters; etc. Both halves have a very good, smooth feel.
