For sale is a 1983 ARIA Thorsound "Duran Duran" bass with gig bag.
If you're looking at this, you know exactly what this is!!! You may think its too expensive.
So, shoot me an offer!!!
Rosewood fretboard. Changed to sealed tuners. Original knobs. Original tuners included. Please see photos. I call it my Duran Duran bass.
These basses were endorsed by John Taylor, bassist, of Duran Duran during their heyday. He played the top of the line, neck-thru model; this is the bottom of the line, bolt-on model.
The finish is black with a natural center. I am not sure what the black wood is, but the body is obviously maple in the center. It has that fake neck-thru appearance that was popular with Japanese manufacturers at the time.
I have photographed all of the finish imperfections to the best of my ability. One of the imperfections that does not photograph is little fingerprints here and there throughout the face of the guitar. I don't know how the person did this, but there are little fingerprints, here and there, all over the surface of the guitar. They cannot be removed with standard guitar polish. However, I think they can be buffed out.
No cracks in the body or neck. All electronics work perfectly.
The only change on this guitar is the upgrade to sealed tuners. The original tuners will be included, if requested.
Please see photos!!!
