Up for consideration is a very rare find...a vintage 1960s Sekova Barney Kessel made by Matsumoku in a very rare white finish as well...It is missing the original tremolo arm, otherwise all there, and all original...The only real issue is pretty minor...The neck pickup stopped working recently...Not really sure why, but it may need resoldered somewhere, so it should be a simple fix...The bridge and middle position work fine. The guitar is recently set up with Ernie Ball 10s and plays fantastic...It has a really nice neck on it, Rosewood fretboard, the action is low, the neck is straight...Cosmetically speaking, it has scratches and dings that don't show up too bad because of the white glossy finish...There are a couple of scratches on the back, but again, hard to see...There are cracks in the finish around the neck, obviously very common on the old Japanese guitars that had a lot of clear coat...There are no structural cracks at all, just into the finish...There pickup surrounds have some wear, and the bridge has some wear, there are pick marks in between the pickups...None of which affect the play ability of the guitar itself...Cosmetically a strong 7.5/10...The guitar actually plays like a real Barney Kessel, and is really built well! It is a beautiful guitar in person, is incredibly unique and has great craftsmanship throughout! Made in Japan and it shows!
