These are the first generation patent sticker pickups (circa 1961-62) making them identical structurally and functionally to the second generation PAF( double black leads, purple wire, shorter magnets ( reputedly alnico5s)
I have owned this set for approximately 15 years: acquired them from a dealer in New York and installed them in my custom shop R7 (goldtop). I disliked the stock burstbuckers and tried many custom winds and finally sought a set of these after much research. This is a hotter set with the bridge reading out at close to 8.7 ohm and the neck around 7.9. Experts will tell you these readings date these among the earliest of pat no pups. They sound beautiful, clean or overdriven. Tonally they can produce a range but always reminded me of Dickey Betts. Those of you who know the history of humbuckers know what these are worth. I am only selling them because I need the money. They are priced below current market. Please feel free to send questions.
