Yup - the clowniest of clownbursts, has this one - well, not that bad, really - looks better in person...mmmmhmmmmmmmm...
Anyway, what I have here is a blast from the late '90s ('99?), which is a fairly rare Samick SAT-650 ES-u-know-what clone, or perhaps, a house-branded Dot Deluxe ;). Samick built a lot of semi-hollows for Epiphone and others, as well as releasing some under their own name. This one is in remarkably good shape: all original, nice flamey maple veneer, no dings, visible dents, or cracks to speak of (a miracle for a 15-year-old guitar), although there is some mojo:
* The bridge pickup volume knob is cracked,
* Both tone knobs are missing the "tone" inserts, and
* The gold hardware, naturally, has faded, along with some pitting on the pickup covers, bridge, and tailpiece.
* There is a bit of finish chipping around the top screw hole for the pickguard; not visible when the pickguard is installed - showed pics both ways.
Everything works, though, and it plays like a dream. Frets have minimal wear, and no dents or grooves. The original pickups are somewhat bright but not harsh, and are above-average output. 24.75" scale and strung with D'Addario .010s. Overall, the guitar is in great shape, but I have listed it as "very good", because that's about right. Comes with a Road Runner acoustic gig bag (yeah, it's bigger than necessary, but does the job in a pinch).
Buy it, change the knobs, and brag to your buddies that you got a rare-ish guitar from the Golden Age of Korean Guitar Making at a nice price!! Asking $279.00 shipped/PP'ed OBO to lower 48 only.
