Ernie Ball Music Man USA SUB Stingray S.U.B. 2003-2006 White

For sale is an active American Made Ernie Ball MusicMan SUB 4 string bass in the coveted white finish. This bass will be shipped to you in a hard shell case.

Made in the USA in San Luis Obispo, the original SUB basses were meant to be an affordable, American-made instrument, a “no-frills” Stingray if you will. The lower price for these American made instruments was accomplished primarily by simplifying construction and finishing and the result is one of the best basses you can get for the money. In fact, after MusicMan discontinued this line the design of this model and the 5 string (the 5 string was a brand new design when the SUB was launched) was used for the premium Stingray Classic line of basses which is offered at a premium price point.

The bass has a Stingray shaped body and unbranded Stingray electronics and hardware and features a slab body just like the pre-Ernie ball B00 basses, rather than the contoured body of current Stingray design. The body is made of poplar and is finished in a textured, rubberized finish similar to what you would find in a truck bed. These models Also sport a maple neck finished in a thin coat of black paint.

This bass is excellent condition. There is not much wear to speak of and only very minimal paint wear at the edge of the headstock as is incerdibly common in this model. This is overall a very clean SUB and these cosmetic flaws are only visible upon close inspection.

This bass features an upgraded BWB pickguard and these basses accept standard Stingray pickguards so the guard can certainly be changed to your liking if you ever decide you want a new look. Overall the bass looks feels and sounds great, as a stingray should!

 
This bass has an active 2 band EQ. It really captures that classic tone of a Stingray 2EQ. Like the Rays, this model bass is easy and comfortable to play and has the Stingray’s classic good looks.
