Parker Fly Nylon (Spanish Fly) Electric Nylon String Guitar w/OHSC
For sale is a Parker Fly Nylon (a.k.a. Spanish Fly) Guitar in very good condition. If you’re looking at this listing then you know that these do not come up for sale very often and this one is in great shape, plays beautifully, and sounds excellent!
After 2003, all Spanish Fly (formerly known as the Fly Nylon) guitars were made in the Parker Guitars custom shop in the USA as special order guitars. This one is from 2009 and features the same original Fishman preamp used on the original Fly Nylon which has a two-band EQ concentrically stacked knob in addition to the volume knob. This particular Spanish Fly has an upgraded Fishman AGX-125 undersaddle pickup and sounds terrific! No buzz or other weird noises. .
The original saddle has been upgraded with a bone saddle, but the original stock saddle is included. The original nut has also been upgraded to a bone nut, but, again, the original stock nut is included. A string tree has been professionally installed to reduce the string break angle at the nut toward the tuners. All other elements are stock as per the Parker specs.
The original open-back Sperzel tuners work perfectly and hold tune. There are some small dings here and there as shown in the photos, but nothing that affects performance or is noticeable on stage.
If you are a Fly owner, this has the same basswood neck as most Flys, but it 2” wide at the nut more like a traditional classical guitar. The body is a gorgeous piece of Sitka Spruce and, like all Fly guitars, a carbon fiber reinforced neck extends from the headstock down into the body of the guitar providing rigidity and sustain: it is an incredibly lightweight instrument, and very thin like all other Fly guitars. There are a few dings which are shown in the photos that are minor and do not take away from the beauty of this instrument.
This instrument has been professionally set up with La Bella 413P Professional Recording Classical Guitar Strings, which are great for Electric nylon string guitars as they produce less fret noise than typical nylon strings, but you can always change the strings to your favorite brand.
The guitar will ship promptly and fully-insured in the original hardshell case with original case candy (tools, manual, etc.).
