One of a kind (literally) project guitar. You can find Teles with Strat necks but Tele necks generally won't play nicely with Strats. So this is a relatively rare bird. The body is from a 2013 2-Color Sunburst Fender American Special Stratocaster Sunburst with Texas Special pickups in the neck and bridge. Neck is from a 1970's-era Japanese Fender Squire Bullet Telecaster. I chose this neck mostly because it fit perfectly into the strat body, but these necks are also well crafted and highly regarded. Neck profile is thin. Might be most comfortable for someone with smaller hands. Or you can experience what Hendrix must have felt like and wrap your hand all over this thing. The original Texas special in the middle position was acting a bit wonky, so I replaced it with a pick up from the 1970's Japanese Bullet which has a single-bar magnet so it looks and sounds more like a P90. I'll send the original pup if you want it. In a bit of inspired idiocy I relic'ed the body, but not too much. I removed the tremolo arm and hard-tailed it. I'll ship it with the original tremolo, so easy enough to just remove the small block of wood in the back cavity and screw the arm back in. I also wired up a switch to give it a Gilmour 7-way pick-up selector mod. If you're not familiar with this, when engaged, it allows you to use the neck pickup in combination with the bridge, so you can have neck + bridge and neck + middle + bridge. Plays and sounds great. Watch the video to see how the mod works and get a sense of the tones you can get. Will ship with a gig bag.
