Boutique Custom Fretless 5 String Bass made by JCR.
This bass was made to resemble the Zon Michael Manring Hyperbass. It has all hipshot detuners and Tenor bass strings. This is a sweet bass, tuned to High C, G, D, A, E.
Features lined ebony fingerboard, Koa Top, John East 3 band active electronics with sweepable Mids 100hz-1000hz, strung with new set of Warwick Black Label Round Wound Strings, gauges 20-40-60-80-100.
Also comes with a soft-side custom JCR case and an extra set of strings. Includes super nice cork harness strap that matches the knobs.
This is a bass soloist’s dream bass, perfect for playing tunes combining fretted notes and harmonics. There are numerous youtube videos featuring these basses in action. String spacing can be adjusted between approximately 17-20 mm on the bridge saddles by way of set screws using a hex wrench to lock down string spacing.
I thought I would have plenty of time to build a solo repertoire to play in night/dinner clubs but just never get around to putting in the necessary time to make it happen.
