For sale is Walter Becker's incredibly rare Scott Walker Solace. For those in the know...you know that people wait years just to get a guitar from Scott Walker.
This one is the creme de la creme with a tortoiseshell top, back and headstock. It has an aluminum tailpiece. Of course it has the legendary “Cigar Tube” blade pickup.
This guitar is basically perfect except a little laminate is pulling up on the back of the headstock. Should be an easy fix. The guitar sounds incredible and is a complete joy to play. A mix of celebrity owned, incredibly rare guitar, the highest levels of quality and this guitar is serial #8 which is engraved in the headstock.
In terms of sound quality, it doesn't get much better than this. There is only one set of magnets inhibiting vibrations. Normally, it's a humbucker to knock out hum. This is a single coil that knocks out hum!

From the Walker website: The Solace is a guitar that plays itself and although simple in features is a tone machine. It is a culmination of decades of guitar building, engineering and design. Woods, metals, pickup and electronics, finishes and construction details that have been meticulously thought through, tested and revised and packed into one amazing instrument. Built for the road and the studio.
At the heart of the guitar is a special designed blade style pickup, that is inserted into a non ferrous stainless steel “Cigar” tube. This shields the single coil design incredibly well, making it quiet and great for the studio. The idea comes from the big steel/slide guitar pickups of the 50’s, combined with the “Lipstick” style pickups. It features a 39 awg wire, a 3″ steel blade pole piece and Neodymium magnets. It has a big full, clean sound and is great for finger style, chords, bottleneck, and phrasing. It is mounted to the guitar with a brushed Aluminum ring.
