I am thinning out my very large collection of stringed instruments (numbering nearly 200), which I began in the 1970's. This listing is for an Orpheum No. 3 Special 5-string banjo (serial number 9138) from 1919. A very fancy open back with 11-1/8" rim, 27" scale, raised tone ring, ornate pearl inlays in fingerboard and peghead. White holly neck with carved heel and large fleur di lis in pearl on back of peghead. Lots of characteristic wear but a good player nonetheless. Adjustable truss rod added and refretted with oversized frets. Now set up with a reproduction no knot tailpiece.
