Welcome to Musicdungeon. This is the 2013 Gibson USA '1941' Ltd Ed J-100 Acoustic Electric Guitar. 25.5" scale. 1.72" nut width. 16.75" bottom bout. 4.75" deep.
The J-100 is a descendant of royalty- the 'King Of The Flat-Tops' SJ-200. The 1941 was only available to 5 Star dealers for its debut.
This J-100 has a fantastic full tone- the solid spruce top and mahogany back/sides combine to create a balanced sound. Tight, yet pronounced lows and slightly rounded highs. The result is a very full response with each note coming through the mix. Just gorgeous.
The natural resonance and projection here are exceptional, but, if you need to reach the back of the hall, this Gibby also has an active Baggs transducer. This pickup amplifies the beautiful tone here without coloring it. The volume control is located in the soundhole, easy to get to while keeping a clean aesthetic.
The one piece mahogany neck here has one of the most comfortable acoustic necks I have ever had the joy of experiencing. Just .82" deep at the 5th fret with a C profile. You'll find yourself able to stretch out creatively as those wider intervals are within easy reach.
The look here is stunning- Sunburst finish showing off the figured top, multi-ply body binding, bound fingerboard, small dot inlays, classic 'Gibson' logo, and, of course, the Firestripe pickguard.
This Gibson is in excellent overall condition- some scratches on the headstock face and a compression where the guitar rests on your leg(pics). Nothing that affects the performance whatsoever.
The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.
This auction includes the original hardshell case.
This is your chance to get your hands on one of the most legendary acoustic guitars of all time- the Gibson 1941 J-100.
We were an authorized Gibson dealer for well over a decade. Buy with confidence.
The J-100 sells new for $3000. Don't pass this by!
