Roughly 25 years ago I bought a wonderful 1966 Tele from
Phil’s Guitars in South San Francisco, one of the most reputable dealers ever.
It was a GREAT guitar, but had come to him with some unknown bridge pickup in
it that was clearly not the original one. So, being Phil, he asked his friend
Seymour Duncan to wind him the most authentic sounding 1966 Tele bridge pickup
he could. (This was before Duncan started the Antiquity line, and was only
doing customs for friends and artists.) This pickup is the result.
To give you an idea what a great guy Phil is, about two
years later, he came across a real 1966 Tele bridge pickup and sent it to me,
free of charge. I put the ’66 pickup in the ’66 Tele and this one went in the
pickup box.
The sound of this pickup is clear and strong, with good
“bite” to it, just like it should be. I didn’t notice any major sonic
difference from the “real” 1966 pickup.
The pickup has a DC resistance of 7.06K ohms when measured
on our Fluke 87V meter.
It will be packed very carefully, with lots of protective
bubble wrap, in an oversized box.
This pickup comes with a 48-hour approval period. If, within
the 48-hour period, you decide that it is not for you, simply return it in the
same condition as we sent it out, with full insurance, and we will refund your
purchase price, minus shipping to you and a 10% restocking fee. Buyer pays
return shipping.
TERMS, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Buyer pays selling price plus
shipping and insurance. I typically ship with USPS or FedEx, though other
arrangements can be made at the buyer's request. No fee is charged for packing
or handling. I will gladly ship anywhere in the world, but beware,
international shipping charges can be steep, and the buyer is responsible for
all duties, taxes, VAT, brokerage and storage fees on their end. Please contact
me with any questions.
