FRAP TOOLS FUMANA
The Fumana filter from Frap Tools follows in the footsteps of the classic Buchla 296 and 296e Programmable Spectral Processors. Essentially it's like two 296s, granting users the ability to accomplish 16-band vocoding.
Fumana features 16 independent bandpass filters and envelope followers, with the ability to independently control and send audio to odd and even bands. Consequently, it is capable of providing rich vocoder and comb filtering effects. There's also a summed envelope follower output, and voltage-controllable parametric scan/tilt—features that let users create rich and unique timbres by sweeping through harmonics.
FUMANA FEATURES
- 16 independent 48 db/oct bandpass filters with amplitude control, envelope follower output, and audio output for each band
- Parametric scanning configures scan level in conformation with positive or negative voltage
- Phase reverse switches for odd and even band outputs
- TILT emphasizes higher or lower frequencies
- BAND SELECTOR determines the central band of the parametric scanner
- PEAK/NOTCH controls the gain of the parametric scan's central band
- WIDTH changes the amplitude of nearby bands relative to the center band
- UNVOICED audio input for creating sibilant sounds
