It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. This kit uses a JJ Electronic 5751 for V1 which is in-between an ECC81 and an ECC83S in gain, a current balanced ECC83S for V2. A real nice combination!

The power tubes are a premium matched pair of the JJ Electronic 6V6S's. These are an amazing tube and the only real 6V6 that can handle up to 500 plate volts. Tighter lows, detailed mids and smooth clipping characteristics. These are a 14 watt tube so the power distortion will set in much earlier.

Unlike other tube venders who charge for low noise tubes, all our tubes meet rigorous tests for low noise, microphonics and nine additional tests.
