Akai X-1800SD Reel To Reel 8 Track Recorder, Player, Accessories, Restore 1960s Gray/Wood

Very cool vintage Akai X-1800SD Reel to Reel Recorder and 8 Track Plater, original owners manuals, 1 microphone, accessory box, purchased from the original owner, never serviced, non smoking environment, climate controlled environment. It is in beautiful cosmetic condition and has never been serviced. The play feature works and it sounds good. The record feature works and it sounds good. I could not get it to rewind or fast forward. The 8 Track will change tracks but will not play. This X-1800SD has its own amplifier and small side speakers. You can also connect external speakers on the back via 1/4" jacks. It has the outstanding Crossfield heads and the heads show no wear at all. It has excellent potential and has the incomparable vintage Akai craftsmanship, design, attention to detail and potential performance. It will need the necessary and typical adjustment, restoration, lubrication and possible repairs that all vintage tape decks require.
