About This Listing

Vintage 1966 Guild DE-400 Duane Eddy Archtop Electric Guitar RARE custom-color Cherry Finish == Guild only produced around 130 DE-400's a year and most were the standard Sunburst, some Natural, and only a few in the special-order Cherry Red == This beauty was played lightly for a year or so and has been in the case since -- VG++ to Excellent condition with very light wear, some light marks to finish, finish checking in the thin Cherry lacquer finish, binding cracked on treble horn as shown (my luthier repaired these today), very light fret wear (99%), metal parts nice with some patina mainly on the Pat Pend Grovers == All Original and Complete -- the flat-wound strings may even be original! == Includes original "Guild" case, capo, and coily cord -- coily has a 4 ft. piece of bungie cord through the middle limiting length to 4 ft, leading us to believe this may have been primarily a bedroom player! == I wiped it off lightly only, it could use new strings (after over 50 years lol) and a set-up -- truss rod works == No cracks/breaks/repairs other than to binding as mentioned == Beautiful and very Rare guitar -- and priced reasonably (many of these are priced way over book) ==
