Up for your consideration is this wonderful 1938 Willner serial number 1273 OM-18 style guitar. This guitar is ultra rare and represents the best example of Hugo Willner's work. Hugo Willner sold his guitars out of Barber Shops throughout Western Canada ... he would place an ad in the shops of his different models and the barbers would place orders to the factory for a commission. These guitars in this condition are extremely rare and the absolute best bang for your buck on the market today.

The condition is solid and very good overall. The top is pretty clean except for some dings and several tightly repaired cracks. The sides are in decent shape too. The back is crack free but has alot of buckle wear that even shows up on the heel. It's been gone over by my luthier and is ready for a long period of health. The set up is excellent with a pretty darn straight neck and clean frets.

Solid Spruce top from the Queen Charlotte Islands, original finish and pickguard, a Honduras Mahogany back, sides and neck, Bone nut and saddle, Rosewood pins with abalone inlays, beautiful action with an arrow straight neck, slanted Martin style headstock, scalloped spruce X bracing and small original bridge plate with a Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay. Mahogany neck reinforced with what looks to be an ebony strip. Original Grover tuners included though the buttons may have been replaced. One unique feature of this guitar is that the fretboard is highly radiused in on the top 3 or 4 frets and is entirely flat at the end of the fretboard. 1 7/8 nut width and 2 3/8” string spacing at the bridge. This is a deluxe copy of a pre-war Martin 000 guitar. Here is the amazing part ... the tone rivals, and in my humble opinion, is better than any other 000 guitar you will ever find. It is so lightly built, it is akin to a Kel Kroydon in terms of sensitivity to a pick. Actually this guitar is louder than most Kel's I've played with a superb tone that will only continue and amaze you.

Here is a video Robert Bowlin was kind enough to make for me. He really enjoyed this guitar and even took it off my hands for a while.

Comes with a non original hardshell case
