After the untimely passing of singer/songwriter John Denver in 1997, the Windstar Foundation, an environmental non-profit organization founded by Denver in the 1970s decided to have a statue erected in his honor. This statue which currently can be seen at the legendary Red Rock concert venue in Colorado was unveiled in 2002 and featured Denver with a bald eagle on his arm and his trusty Taylor acoustic guitar on his back. In 2003 Taylor guitars along with the Windstar Foundation released the John Denver Commemorative model in a super limited run of about 185 instruments total. This JDCM model features a stunning 5A flamed Koa top, sides and a three piece 5A Koa back along with an ebony fretboard and bridge. It has an amazing inlay of both the statue of John Denver and the bald eagle. This limited model has become incredibly rare and they are seldom available for sale in the secondary market. We are proud to offer this beautiful example which is in mint condition. A new Taylor guitar with highly figured Koa like this one has would cost well over $6000 so don't let this extremely rare limited John Denver model slip away. Includes original Taylor hardshell case.
