Welcome to Musicdungeon. This is the Vintage 1979 Guild USA G37 Acoustic Guitar. 25.5" scale. 1.69" nut width. 15 7/8" bottom bout. 5" deep. This is an incredible example. Solid spruce top with maple back/sides. The maple here has some nice bird's eye figuring as well. The 5" depth of this Guild combines with the arched maple back to create a very balanced tone. Deep focused lows and excellent note articulation. The woods here have aged beautifully over the past 34 years enabling a sweet resonance- you can feel the low end in your chest when playing open chords. Yet, each note in the chord has clarity. The treble strings have enough brilliance to cut through the mix yet have a round, full bodied, tone. This makes this G37 a perfect all around acoustic. The neck here has enough meat for solid tone transfer yet retains a comfortable feel. .90" deep at the 5th fret with an elliptical C profile. The look here is classic- natural finish showing off the maple with some birds eye, multi-ply body purfling/binding, tortoise Guild pickguard, and chrome hardware. This G37 is in excellent condition- exceptional for its age. There is very slight finish hazing where you would rest your picking forearm, a few very small marks, and some pick marks on the guard. For a 30+ yr old guitar, this is just in fantastic condition. The frets are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret. This is your chance to get your hands on a stunning example of a 1979 G37 Guild Acoustic. Includes the original hardshell case & manual. Don't pass this by!
