First introduced in 1960 as their deluxe bass model, Fender's deep and growling Jazz Bass has become standard issue for bass players in a multitude of genres. This model, which is part of the new and impressive American Performer range, replaces the old American Special model, allowing for a genuine USA made high quality instrument at an accessible price.
Featuring an Alder body with Fender's traditional "Offset Waist Contour", this Jazz Bass feels as vibrant and comfortable as ever, and finished in an eye catching Satin Surf Green polyurethane finish, it's more than ready for the rigours of the road. The satin finished Maple neck is just as impressive too, and has been sculpted to a “Modern C” profile which works well with across most playing styles, while the 9.5" radius Maple fingerboard features medium-jumbo frets - making ease of accurate and expressive playing.
Pickups are two Yosemite® Jazz Bass® single coils; handcrafted in Corona, California, these pickups are specifically voiced for each model and each position to create a wide sonic versatility, which when combined with the Greasebucket Tone System - a uniquely Fender design which lets you cut treble without losing gain or “muddying” the sound - enables a useful system of individual tone shaping. Other features include Tapered-Shaft tuning machines, and a four-saddle bridge for solid tuning stability, precise intonation and increased sustain.
