About This Listing

Jazz Vintage Trumpet Series Sale:

As with everything else, Jazz, since it's beginning in the 20's, has also had fashion ebbs and flows. Recently the fashion among Jazz trumpet players is to play seemingly beat-up unpolished raw-brass horns. Some would call it a "grunge" look but somehow it works, at least for me and others who are more interested in a horn with a stellar sound rather than a horn with a polished, lacquered look. Don't let the grunge look of these horns deceive you, however. Regardless of the grunge, I assure you that the musicians who play these beat-up looking horns are ever conscious of their playability and sound.

I stripped the lacquer off of six vintage horns and gave them each a custom jazz brushed-brass look. Each of them is a stellar horn from various eras of the jazz age, from the '20s to the '70s. Each was disassembled, cleaned, then re-assembled with all new springs, felts and water-key pads. Each has had their valves properly adjusted. From the last photo you can see that each has all slides free and the valve plating looks unworn. A good healthy pop as each slide is pulled attests to good valve seating. Each one plays beautifully.

This one, #813009, is an Olds Pinto. It has no dents and just a few dings here and there.

Comes with a Duo'er gig bag and a mouthpiece.
