Now for sale is my 1977 Ibanez Artist banjo, which is a model 590FB.  I had it set up when I bought it a couple of years ago, though I declined to replace the head at the time.

It's in great shape, with no discernible problems in the finish.  Everything is all-original.

- Tuners are in great shape
- Binding is in great shape, though yellowed a bit with age.
- Comes with original case, but the end of the banjo has made a small rip in the fabric
- Taking the back off shows that two hairline splits have developed in the ply's in the wood around the tone ring - I have updated my pictures.  These do not go all the way through.

Is this a common problem with banjos?   I am a guitar player (who loves Ibanez Artist guitars!)  I only discovered it when an interested buyer asked how many plys this banjo had (6), and I had to take the back off.  I had to look into it, and apparently it is a common repair that is easily taken care of.  So I dropped the price $75 so that you could do that.  There are several discussions of this as a simple repair if you go to banjohangout dot org and search for "cracked pot"

Get a nice vintage banjo for a great price!  Thanks for your interest!
