Thanks for having a look at my listing!
I do have other guitars and amp cabinets up for sale so please have a look at my other listings!
History:
This beautiful cabinet was born (I think?) in the 1950's an Extension Speaker Cabinet. It was finished in a traditional brown and likely used as a speaker cab that would be connected to one of the large console units which held the radio, turntable, TV, 8-track, or whatever else that they could fit into it!
How I Received It:
The finish on this speaker had dulled significantly to a rather faded, crappy brown with no grill cloth at all (see photos). There was no speaker.
Modifications Made (in short):
· Cabinet Exterior: Because the original finish was so far gone, I decided to stain it with a Lemon Yellow dye and then put many, many coats of polyurethane on it. I also chose a traditional black grill cloth, which turned out awesome! I also added some very cool Antique Atwater Kent radio knobs on the side to add to the vintage look. And added large, rubber feet to the bottom to avoid any mishaps with flooring.
· Cabinet Interior: To the inside speaker board I attached a 12 inch Made in England Celestion G12F-70 speaker, 16 Ohm impedance, a 1/4 inch jack, some new grill cloth and named her "Rosie".
Dimensions:
Cabinet: 34“ x 31” x 19”
