Vaschenko LP Type 2013 Vintage Amber

This beautiful piece of work is now up for sale.  This is a top-of-the-line 100% handmade instrument crafted by master luthier Valery Vaschenko.  The guitar is 100% handmade old school style using hot hide glue on all joins and has a thin nitro finish – no CNC machines were used in the production of this instrument. 

It is truly a one-of-a-kind guitar.

The guitar has a high grade Honduran mahogany body, master grade solid flamed eastern maple top, wavy rio rosewood fretboard, and rosewood headstock veneer.  The inlays are cellulose nitrate and were manufactured by Mazzucchelli, the original Italian factory that supplied to Gibson in the 50s and used on the Les Paul Models.  The guitar has a long neck tenon which is one of the tightest joins I’ve ever seen.

The body & fretboard are encircled with curly maple and recessed binding, a further tribute to this luthiers outstanding work, and the headstock inlay is a combination of real MOP (Vaschenko) and abalone/real MOP (VV).  The guitar is stamped and signed on the back of the headstock by Vaschenko along with date of completion.

Hardware – the guitar is equipped with high-quality German made nickel ABM bridge and tailpiece, vintage style Schaller deluxe tuners, has 50’s style wiring with RS Guitarworks Superpots, Jensen PIO caps, and CTS Long Shaft 500K Split Shaft Audio Pot.  It also comes equipped with a set of hand wound Sheptone AB Custom pickups.  Neck size is between a 59 and 60, and feels like a comfortable soft v in the palm.  It’s not a fat neck.  Weight is little over 9lbs.  Guitar comes with Thomann Hard Case.  The case is heavily stained on top, although it is in near perfect condition inside.

The guitar is in excellent condition – no fret wear, no dents, breakages, or other concerns at all.  I’ve gone across the guitar with a fine tooth comb, and can only identify two marks on it which are shown in photo 25 (last one) along with some nitro clouding on the back at the base of the neck.  There may be others that I’ve missed, so if disclosure of every tiny little mark or scratch is important to you, skip this auction.  If you want any additional photos of a specific area, just ask.  No claim, no return.
