This is my 16th completed SRV #1 Tribute Strat. They get better and better!
The components are slightly a compilation, but the end result is all Texas Sizzle! The guitar was (is) a Fender 1960's Road Worn Stratocaster (circa 2013). I then set to work "distressing" the body to resemble the great SRV! It even has a simulated repaired headstock crack. This is a very meticulous process with the objective to be as accurate as possible. After the right amount of relic work, I nitrocellulose lacquer it as you see it now. I even woodburn the moniker on the back under the tremelo cavity. Then I added a left-handed gold Stratocaster bridge assembly. All the gold hardware is brand new and freshly-installed, and it's all USA-made. The tuners are 6-on-a-side Gold vintage tuners. The pickguard is single ply black and made in USA. The pickguard has the prism letters that SRV used most and the most iconic. The pickups and electronics are a unique set. The neck pickup is a Fender Custom Shop 1969 Pickup hand-wound by Abigail Ybarra and signed by her. The middle pickup is a Fender Fat 50's Custom Shop pickup, the bridge is a brand new Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Strat bridge pickup. The pickups alone are worth $250. The electronics are a USA custom-wired reissue set with orange drop capacitor. The frets are jumbos and it plays very easily. The guitar has mojo, vibe, sound and a look and feel that make it a great piece for your Strat arsenal. If you like SRV, you'll love this! I will be uploading a demo video of the guitar on You Tube soon as well. It is effortless to play and really sounds incredible.
I take special pride in these and I pay very close attention to the detail. In the first photo you will see in inset of the original for comparison.
